Vintage Hillestak Chair, designed by Robin Day for Hille (GB).

Moulded ply back and seat and beech frame.

Designed in 1950, the Hillestak chair was conceived when government-imposed Utility restrictions were still in place and was an instant success, sold into assembly halls, canteens and made under licence abroad.  

In good vintage condition.  Some signs of wear and tear, commensurate with age, specifically some damage to the ply at the back of the seat that has been sanded and made good hence the price.

A mid-century classic.
