Eames Herman Miller DSW side chairs with imperfections

Product code:

Set of 4 DSW side chairs designed by Charles and Ray Eames and made by Herman Miller in the late 50s/early 60s.   Original fibreglass shells mounted on shockmounts with walnut bases. Colours (left to right) are: parchment, light ochre, brown and elephant hide grey.

The contemporary version of this chair (manufactured by Vitra) is made of polypropylene, which in our opinion, is not a patch on these original fibreglass models, which age beautifully.

All with original Herman Miller stamp.  Mounted on new walnut dowel bases (these chairs can alternatively be supplied on oak or maple bases, if you would prefer).

These are grade B/C seconds with slight flaws to the shells so that they don't meet the grade of the high standard chairs we sell. Nonetheless, they are perfectly useable and sound and are priced accordingly.

Please see photos for specific details as to condition. In particular:

Parchment - has hairline stress cracks on each side.

Light ochre - 4 holes filled in on the centre of the seat.

Brown - 4 holes filled in on the centre of the seat.

Elephant hide grey - crack on the side which has been repaired.

They are all structurally sound.

The seats and bases will be dismantled for safer shipping but can be bought fully assembled if so desired.  Please message us in this case and we will let you have a shipping quote.
